Member Eligibility and Responsibilities 

Half-Time Member roles: Service Year September 1, 2014 - August 31, 2015

Eligibility
  • Each member must be at least 17 years of age (Parental consent required if member is not 18 years of age.)
  • Each member must be US citizens; and have a high school diploma (or enrolled in an education institution pursing a high school diploma), a social security card, a birth certificate, and a government issued identity card with photo ID.
  • Each member must consent to criminal history checks and receive satisfactory results.
 Responsibilities 
  • Each member will work with an elementary or middle grades classroom teacher to implement the STEM mentoring program.
  • Each member will provide 900 hours of mentoring services and receive a living allowance of $450 per month for 12 months.
  • Each member will spend on average 20 hours per week mentoring at their assigned site.
  • Each member will participate in planned community service projects for each of the 4 National Identity Days.
  • At the end of their year of service, each member will be eligible to receive the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award in the amount of $2,822.

  • Each member will spend on average 5-8 hours per week mentoring at their assigned site.
  • Each member will participate in planned community service projects for each of the 4 National Identity Days.
  • At the end of their year of service, mentors are eligible to receive the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award in the amount of $1,195.
