A bachelor's degree in special education - general curriculum prepares teachers to work with children with disabilities who are pursuing a high school diploma and are in the general education curriculum in kindergarten through twelfth grade. Wells Fargo Partnership East (WPE) special education majors also receive licensure to teach reading in kindergarten through twelfth grade. The special education coursework provided through WPE is currently offered completely online through the Virtual Consortium.
Wells Fargo Partnership East starts cohorts of special education majors annually. To join Wells Fargo Partnership East, students must meet the requirements listed on the general description webpage as well as submit a WPE application to a WPE Coordinator and a Freshman/Transfer application to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at East Carolina University. Students must have access to the technology required as described in the Technology Requirements.
