On January 19, our alumni and current members will create disaster relief kits for distribution to 50 elderly residents of PittCounty who are served by the Pitt County Meals on Wheels program.We will begin the day’s activities with a speaker from the American Red Cross.This speaker will discuss disaster relief and how it affects the elderly population.Our members and volunteers will create the kits and then deliver them.With permission from the recipient, the members will spend some time talking about what to do in an emergency and help to complete an emergency sheet with key persons and contact information.This sheet will be displayed on the refrigerator or some other prominent location in the residence.Community members are welcomed to join us.
