Project HEART VolunteerCorps’ Mission

Project HEART VolunteerCorps is dedicated to mobilizing communities in eastern North Carolina.  The VolunteerCorps strives to bring meaningful service to our communities in hopes of creating a better tomorrow for the citizens of our area.  The VolunteerCorps freely gives their time in order to strengthen our communities and school systems.   

In order to become a member of the Project HEART VolunteerCorps, the volunteer must complete and sign the Volunteer Application.  Once this application has been completed the volunteer will mail the form to the Project HEART Office, Ragsdale 104A, East Carolina University, Greenville, NC 27858.  If the volunteer prefers, he/she can personally deliver it to the Project HEART Office in person.  The Project HEART staff will be available to assist with completing the application. 

Once these forms are reviewed, the Volunteer Coordinator will contact the volunteer and set up an informal meeting.  Upon acceptance into the VolunteerCorps, the volunteer will receive and sign a Volunteer Agreement.  The volunteer will also provide a copy of their driver’s license/state ID for identification at the orientation training.

Tutoring:  Gateway Learning Center

          Seeking volunteers to teach math and reading    at the Gateway Learning Center.  Students range from 9th to 12th grade. 

Service Event:  Special Olympics                         

             Seeking volunteers to assist with Special Olympics, April 9th from 10am - 2pm
