Half-Time Member roles and activities:  Service Year-August 1, 2010 – July 31, 2011


  • Project HEART recruits 74 Half-Time members to tutor at-risk elementary, middle grade, and high school students
  • Members must be at least 17 years of age
  • Members must be US citizens with acceptable criminal background check
  • Each Half-Time member will provide 901 hours of tutoring services  
  • The member will spend on average 20 hours per week tutoring at their assigned site
  • The tutoring sessions will consist of one-to-one and small group sessions
  • Members will participate in planned community service projects for each of the 4 National Identity Days
  • Members will recruit 6 volunteers for the year

 

Minimal-Time Member roles and activities: Service Year August 1, 2010 – July 31, 2011

  • Project HEART recruits 85 Minimal-Time members (high school seniors) tutoring at-risk students, grades 9 and 10
  • Members must be at least 17 years of age
  • Members must be US citizens with acceptable criminal background check
  • Each Minimal-Time member will provide 300 hours of tutoring services
  • Each member will be assigned a classroom to tutor for one class period Monday-Friday 
  • Members will participate in planned community service projects for each of the 4 National Identity Days
  • Members will recruit 6 volunteers for the year
