As Director of Research Management, Ms. Simpson serves The College of Education faculty and staff with a primary focus on proposal development, proposal submission, non-financial post award compliance, oversight of award management, and the export control function for the College. She serves as liaison between the college and the university's Division of Research, Office of Sponsored Programs, and Grants & Contracts. She works with the Associate Dean for Research on proposal development and post-award issues in all areas of research administration including but not limited to: appropriateness of charges, working within federal guidelines, post-award administrative services to include effort reporting, reports management, and compliance tracking and project close out. She also serves as a member of NCURA, SRA and GMN. She works closely with OSP during the proposal development/submission process and coordinates training opportunities, develops research-related policies and procedures, and maintains the Grants & Funded Research database.
