Twelve educators and advocates from across North Carolina were inducted into East Carolina University’s Educators Hall of Fame on Jan. 28. The inductees were Carla Frinsko, Dr. Robert C. Hanes, Dr. B. Grant Hayes, the late Ruth Barnhill Jackson, Gwenlyn Goodson Jeffreys, Peggy Jackson Nelson, Dr. Katherine O’Connor, the late Patricia Peoples, Dr. John A Swope, Dr. Sandra Warren, Dr. Kathi Wilhite, and Mary Alice Yarbrough.
ECU's new laboratory school will give students in the ECU College of Education an opportunity to work in a school being planned to boost elementary school student performance and provide exposure and training for teachers and principals to address challenges in high-needs schools
