Advisory Board

Mission Statement: The East Carolina Teaching Fellows and Maynard Scholarship Advisory Board shall consist of university faculty, administrators and public school personnel. This board shall serve as a support system for the program and as a communication line between the program and the university at large.

The board will assist with financing for the program, initiating and implementing program policy, and providing services for the operation and improvement of the program.  The board shall meet with the Director of the program on a regular basis for reports on the status of the program. 




Meeting Schedule: The Advisory Board meets the third Wednesday of October and April during the academic year.  Meetings are from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.


Examples of board action: Secured university funding; provided ECU Foundation funds; included Fellows in Honors program; secured Fellows residence hall; planned and executed academic advising program; offered a BB&T leadership seminar; provided office and meeting space; secured early pre-registration for Fellows.
