Upper Division Admission Requirements
As an NC Teaching Fellow, you must be admitted into Upper Division/Teacher Education by your junior year.
- Successfully complete ASIP 2000 or pass the challenge exam (technology)
- Pass the Reading, Writing, and Math Sections of the Praxis I
(Prometrics Testing Center, 2428 Charles Blvd., Greenville -- Telephone: (252)756-0342)
- Complete a Speech and Hearing Screening - Appointments: 328-4405
- Successfully complete your "Early Experience" course (Ex. Elem2123, Musc2123, Midg213, etc.)
- Interview with your department
- Advisor approval

Senior Year Experience
Candidates in all program areas in teacher education at ECU complete a Senior Year Experience in a public school within the Latham Clinical Schools Network. Candidates are assigned to a trained Clinical Teacher and public school classroom for the duration of one full year for a field based internship. During the first semester of the Senior Year, called Senior I, candidates report to their internship site one full day per week to begin the transition to the role of teacher. During the second semester of the Senior Year, called Senior II, candidates report to their internship site every day, all day and assume the role of classroom teacher.
