Friendly Reminder:
Freshmen/Sophomore/Junior Tutoring: Please be reminded that if you ever need to miss your regularly scheduled tutoring time, please call the site supervisor first explaining your absence and reschedule your make up time, then contact your tutoring coordinator or the office and finally submit a letter to the office. It is very important for you to maintain communication with the site supervisor for any changes, because they plan for you to be there, as do the children you tutor.
Additionally, you are representing ECU and the NC Teaching Fellows & Maynard Scholars programs when you are in the community. We do hear from these supervisors when things are going well and when there is concern.
If you are unsure if a site/school is open and if you should be there, it is your responsibility to contact that site to find out if you need to be there. Some sites operate on state holidays, and you are not required to be there on those days, but need to make your contact person aware. Your coordinators and our office are certainly here for support and questions and to make sure that all is going smoothly - not to take you step by step through communications and making up time.
When you are teachers and have volunteers in your classroom, you will expect the same professionalism.
