Welcome to the Department of Elementary Education and Middle Grades Education. Inherent in our mission is the preparation of excellent teachers for the children and young adolescents of North Carolina. Our administration and faculty seek to exceed excellence in preparation of our teachers, not just for pride, but because the education of the children and the young adolescents of North Carolina and the future of our state and nation depend on our work. To achieve our mission, one current project is our involvement as a state leader in the National Teacher Performance Assessment project in partnership with Stanford University. Dr. Ann Bullock
