The MAT 39 semester hour program enables graduates to earn a North Carolina Advanced Teaching License and a Master’s degree.  Graduates are eligible for Master’s level salary when employed by North Carolina school districts. The program is currently a full-time face-to-face program providing intensive core courses in content and pedagogy.  The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) is awarded by the College of Education in conjunction with the Department of Exercise and Sport Science.  To be eligible applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sport science, kinesiology, physical education, or recreation.  This one year program begins in summer session II and concludes in the following summer session I.
