Carla Moreno The Beverly Health Care Center, is a wonderful place to volunteer. The residents there are very friendly and love to have visitors. There are many things to do while volunteering there, such as painting the residents fingernails, board games, sports games like ring toss and basketball, reading, bringing in a pet, or just having a conversation. Plus every day there are two to three coordinated activities. A few fun activities to help out with are Bingo, Dime Toss, Holy Humor (comedy about church), arts and crafts, and birthday parties. My favorite thing to do at the center was to just talk to the residents, they have so many funny stories, and they way they interact with each, is hilarious. Another good thing about the Beverly Health Care Center, is that if you don’t have transportation, it’s not a big issue. The Brody School of Medicine is located right across the street from the center, and the ECU red bus route goes there. The person to contact is Jennifer Waters at (252) 758-4121, and she is always happy to have volunteers.
