I volunteered my time with Growing Up Fit at Sadie Saulter Elementary School.  I was responsible for teaching Growing Up Fit’s message and fulfilling their mission to a group of about 18 children.  Through their nutrition lesson plans and active recess games this task was not hard to complete.  The children seemed to really grasp and take an avid interest in learning about foods that are good for you to eat.  They also thoroughly enjoyed the games that Growing Up Fit provided them to play.  One game was a silent speed ball game that they still like to play to this day.  This program is very beneficial to all the people participating in it.  The children get a lot more out of the program than just the knowledge of how to lead a healthy lifestyle.  They are learning life long habits that will one day lead them to live longer and more productive lives.
