Lateral Entry Plan of Study Request:

Lateral Entry Teachers are individuals employed in a North Carolina school system that have met the criteria in their area for Lateral Entry and have been issued a Provisional License from NC DPI.  If you are Lateral Entry seeking licensure you would only be requesting the list of courses needed to obtain licensure and would not be seeking a degree.

Please submit the following:
  1. Letter from DPI of transcript evaluation
  2. Copy of lateral entry provisional license issued by DPI
    Send the documents listed above and a letter requesting the ECU courses to meet DPI requirements and personal contact information (address, phone, email) to:

  4. Once all documents have been received a list of ECU courses and general information will be  sent  to you (usually within 2-3 weeks). You can then choose whether or not you wish to apply and complete your courses at ECU.
