I learned so much and grew so much as a person while completing my 25 hour service learning project for my honors Health 1050 class at the Building Hope Community Life Center. I will take all the valuable life lessons with me for the rest of my life, and will always remember the children and adults who I had the opportunity to meet. Building Hope is a faith-based after school program for “at risk” youth in Greenville that focuses on ministry, and spreading the word of Jesus Christ. Aside from religion, there is also a strong emphasis on academics, and the importance of education. The BHCLC offers children an encouraging and helpful place for them to focus on their homework, with access to adults and volunteers who can work with them one on one if they are struggling in any way.
