Building Hope Community Life Center is made up of a Ministry Team whose main goal is serve God by doing His will. Their primary goal is to bring the good news of Jesus Christ in both word and action to BHCLC students and their families. They believe that through worship and service to Jesus Christ, they will be enabled by God to minister those who come to BHCLC. Building Hope works with at-risk youth ranging from first grade to ninth grade. They provide an after school program filled with devotion, tutoring, and mentoring.
I, Noelle Crist, have been blessed with the opportunity to complete my service learning hours at BHCLC. The children are a joy to work with. My job consisted of tutoring, mentoring, and playing with the children. I learned how BHCLC promotes well-rounded youth in all aspects of wellness. The loving, caring environment goes beyond that of an ordinary after-school program. They teach discipline, respect, and the importance of a strong educational and spiritual foundation. As much as I put into working with the children at Building Hope Community Life Center, they too have taught me and given me so much more.
