Tiffany Braswell My name is Tiffany Braswell. I am a student at ECU. For the fall of 2005 my health professor, Professor Elmore, had his health class participate in service learning. I did my service learning at Operation Sunshine. Operation Sunshine is a center for at risk, young ladies, ages 6-13, to go after school. The program allows the girls to do their homework with the help of volunteers, have a snack, and play. Operation Sunshine is located on Chestnut Street, at the corner of Chestnut and Raleigh Street. The hours are from 3-6, Monday through Friday. My experience at Operation Sunshine was amazing. I had fun, and had an opportunity to help make a difference in these girls’ lives. The girls are all bright and funny. They are friendly and they will be successful in life partly because of this program. I can see the girls growing everyday, and I know they look up to me. There is a need for more volunteers though. These girls need someone that is willing to work with them and help them. They need someone that can be a positive role model. They need you.
