Building Hope Community Life Center is a faith-based organization run through a local church in Greenville, NC.  It is a comprehensive program designed to help young children and their families become successful by developing the spiritual and moral infrastructure as well as the necessary educational skills to overcome the economic and cultural hardships and hindrances of life.  They offer an after-school program for students from first grade to eighth grade as well as a program for their families.  There are many opportunities to serve others and serve God at Building Hope.  For more information, check out their website at www.buildinghope.org.

Through my service learning project, I have learned three main things.
1.     When you give of yourself, you receive so much back in return.  This is more of a life lesson.  I gained so many special relationships at Building Hope and each child taught me something that I will be able to carry with me throughout life.
2.     Patience is a virtue!  You need patience to deal with kids and patience is a great skill to have throughout your lifetime.
3.     Service Learning is an awesome experience and one that you will remember for years to come!
