Athletic Training Research Laboratory (ATRL)
The ATRL is dedicated to serve the Athletic Training Faculty and undergraduate and graduate athletic training student research interests. Through research experiences with faculty mentors, students gain an in-depth understanding of the research process and its clinical application while enhancing their own critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The ATRL is equipped with tools (i.e. motion analysis system, surface electromyography, and force plate) used to investigate the biomechanics of human movement as related to lower extremity injury and rehabilitative exercise. In addition, real-time diagnostic ultrasound imaging is currently being used for both research and clinical purposes.
