Interested in a public health study abroad opportunity? Come travel with us to Dublin and Cork, Ireland as we explore Ireland’s public health system. We will study international public health through the visitation of public health departments, health-based nonprofits, hospitals/clinics, and Universities’ public health departments. Students will also process their experiences with daily journals while in Ireland, reflective “fireside” chat discussions of required readings, and by engaging in analytic analyses with a final project paper (comparing Ireland and the U.S.’s public health system). In addition, we will visit some of the many beautiful tourist destinations that Ireland has to offer, including The Ring of Kerry, Blarney Castle, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral among others. Dr. Sloane Burke and Ms. Karen Vail-Smith will be leading the program.
