GREENVILLE, N.C. (November 4, 2010) – The doctoral program in Bioenergetics and Exercise Science housed in the Department of Kinesiology (Formerly Exercise and Sport Science) ranked eighth in the nation for 2010, according to a national survey.
The American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education conducted the review based on contributions of faculty in the areas of productivity, funding, and visibility. Student performance, productivity, employment rates and sites were also included.
The faculty associated with the program ranked 1st in the receipt of external federal funding for research per faculty member.
“This honor underscores the work of our exceptional faculty and students and we are extremely proud of this accomplishment,” said Dr. Glen Gilbert, dean of the College of Health and Human Performance.
The doctoral program is interdisciplinary and is contributed to by the Departments of Physiology and Biochemistry.
