All majors are welcome to join us as we head down-under! We design these study experiences from multi-disciplinary perspectives to capture the broad issues of health and wellness, sustainability, and economic development in a global society. Our study abroad programs can be applied toward ECU’s Certificate of Global Understanding and the minor in International Studies. The programs may also satisfy cognate classes and restrictive elective credits toward other degree programs. Overwhelmingly, students in our programs report being highly satisfied and learning life lessons that go far beyond the classroom. Students engage in home-stays, local foods, and interactions with indigenous people.
RCLS study abroad programs have focused on sustainable tourism in Nicaragua and Fiji, sustainable resource management in Australia, and exploring the relationship between leisure and wellness in Italy. See other Study Abroad opportunities at: ECU Office of International Affairs.
In Summer 2011, RCLS will, once again, offer programs to the South Pacific with a 3.5 week program to Australia (RCLS 4123: Study Abroad in International Sustainability, 6 s.h.) and a 10 day program to Fiji (RCLS 4124: Study Abroad in Sustainable Tourism, 3 s.h.). To learn more about these programs visit the Study Abroad in the South Pacific website.
