Undergraduate Programs Students may choose to pursue a major in either Recreational Therapy (RT) or Recreation and Park Management (RPM). The curriculum emphasizes experience as an important component of the learning process. Students receive hands-on experience through practicums with local recreation and health care agencies. Course credit for additional work experience is also available during the summer. In addition, all students are required to complete an internship during their last semester. Graduates of the RPM program are eligible to become Certified Leisure Professionals and graduates of the RT program are eligible to apply for state and national certification as Therapeutic Recreation Specialists.
