Charles A. Vincent, a Greenville native, a U.S. Navy veteran and ECU LSS alumni died on September 27, 2000 after a battle with cancer. Charles, a graduate of J.H. Rose High School and East Carolina University was a dear friend to many of us and a true gentleman. Charles Vincent will be remembered for his untiring contributions to Greenville Parks and Recreation Department where he was superintendent of recreation for over 31 years. He will also be missed for his contributions to the profession, our alumni society, and to humanity. He was an official in both high school and college athletics for 30 years and was a member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church.
