- Type the message: SUBSCRIBE announce Firstname Lastname
- Replace Firstname and Lastname with your name
- Send the e-mail
How long does it take to get access?
The Announce list is not an automatic subscription list. The subscription request is forwarded to the list owner who then approves or denies the request. This process usually takes 1-2 working days.
How do I post a message to the list?
Address an e-mail to: announce@listserv.ecu.edu
- Type the message to be distributed to the list
- Send the message
How do I remove my e-mail address from Announce?
- Address an e-mail to: listserv@listserv.ecu.edu
- No subject or signature file
- Type the message: SIGNOFF announce
- Send the e-mail
Why has my message been rejected?
Did you use a different e-mail account to post the message?
Always use the same e-mail account to post messages that you used to subscribe to the list; otherwise, you will not be recognized as a user.
How do I turn off receipt of Announce mail?
Address an e-mail to: listserv@listserv.ecu.edu
- No subject or signature file
- Type the message: SET announce NOMAIL
- Send the e-mail
How do I read Announce messages without subscribing to the list?
Start Microsoft Exchange or Outlook.
- In the folder list, select Public Folders
- Then select All Public Folders
- Open the Announce folder
When a message is posted to Announce, by default, the author is sent a confirmation message. To get a copy of the e-mail in its entirety, do the following:
