Call Forwarding: Press the Call Forward All ( CFwdALL ) soft key below the LCD. Dial the number you wish your calls to be forwarded to. Once the number is entered, your LCD will update and display a message at the bottom stating that the phone is forwarded, and it will display the number.

Cancel Call Forwarding: Press the Call Forward All ( CFwdALL ) soft key. You will a hear dial tone briefly, and the LCD will update removing the line stating that your phone is forwarded.

Call Back: Dial the number of the person you wish to call. If they do not answer or you receive a busy signal you can find out when they are available by using the Press the Call Back soft key. Your LCD will display a message explaining that Call Back is activated on the number you dialed. You will also have two soft key options with the message screen, Cancel and Exit. Press Cancel to disable the Call Back feature, press Exit to close the message screen and return to your normal phone display. When the phone you have activated Call Back on comes back available you will receive a chime letting you know. You will also have a soft key option to dial the number automatically.

Conference Calling: There are three types of conference calls, AD Hoc, Meet Me, and Meeting Place.

  • AD Hoc: Dial the number of the first participant, once you are connected, press the More soft key, and then press the Conference soft key ( Confrn ), this will put the first participant on hold and allow you to dial the next one. Once they answer press the Confrn soft key again, this will establish the conference. You may have up to six participants in a AD Hoc conference.
  • Meet Me: Contact a member of the VoIP team and request a meet me conference number. Share the number with all the required members of the conference. To initiate the conference lift the handset and press the more soft key. Press the Meet Me soft key and enter the number you were provided. Once you have connected and established the conference the members will be able to connect using the number you provided to them. Only the conference initiator is required to press the Meet Me soft key.

Message Waiting Indicator: When you have a message waiting, the crystal display on the top of handset will glow red.

Redial: While at your normal view, your phone has a Redial soft key.

Speed Dials: On the right side of the LCD you will have either two buttons or six buttons depending on what type of Cisco VoIP phone you have. On each type of phone the top button will be setup for your extension. The other buttons can be setup as speed dials. To setup speed dials, login to the https://ecucm1/ccmuser, with the correct User ID and password. Click on the link that reads “add/update your speed dials”. On that page you will see a form where you can input the phone number and the text label you desire to be setup as a speed dial. Make sure to press the update button at the bottom of the page after you have entered your information. Your phone will update with the information you entered.

Abbreviated Dialing: Abbreviated dialing allows you to setup your phone to dial preset numbers by using one or two digits. Login to https://ecucm1/ccmuser with the correct user id and password. Click on the link that reads “Add/Update your speed dials”. On that page you will see a form where you can input the phone number and text label you desire to be setup as an Abbreviated dial. Make sure to press the update button at the bottom of the page after you have entered your information. If you have more than 10 you may also find it helpful to print the page. To use the Abbreviated dials, with the handset on the cradle or with no dial tone, press the programmed number that correlates to the phone extension you wish to dial, then press the AbbrDial soft key.


VoIP Troubleshooting and Tips

*You will need to dial all 7 digits – even when calling an ECU number

*You do not need to dial 9 to reach an outside line – just dial as you would at home

*To check voicemail away from your phone dial 328-9870
    When you hear the voice press *
    It will ask you for your ID
        (your phone number – all 7 digits! For example 3289xxx)
    Enter your phone number then click #
    It will ask you for your password
    Enter your password then click #

*If your phone is stuck in the configuring state or won’t register, try unplugging the network cable and plugging it back in to reboot phone.
