Residence Hall Internet Access

Residence halls have two Ethernet access ports in every room.

Computer should have a standard ethernet network card.

Computer must be running currently supported OS (Windows 2000, Windows XP, Mac OS X)

Computer must have Symantec Antivirus running (provided free of charge to ECU students via
www.onestop.ecu.edu) and have the current Windows Updates (not required for Macintosh and Linux users) in order to connect.

The first time a student connects to the network they will be prompted to download and install “Cisco Clean Access Agent” (Cisco CCA)

Once installed Cisco CCA will prompt and assist you should you need to install Symantec or update your computer)

Campus Wireless Access

ECU has a wireless network available to all students, faculty and staff.

To access the wireless network you must have a 802.11b or 802.11g compatable wireless card.

Users are required to login with their PirateID and passphrase.

Wireless is not available in the dorm rooms (installing a personal wireless routers is not permitted).
