New to ECU: Faculty & Staff

PirateID
Your PirateID is how you are identified for logging in to most computer resources at ECU. Faculty/Staff PirateID's are made up of your last name and first initial.
The PirateID for Pat Driver would be "driverp."
Additional characters are added if your PirateID is the same as an existing faculty/staff member.

You can look up your Pirate ID by going to www.ecu.edu and clicking on the envelopeimage icon. Type in your name and click search to find out your e-mail address.

ECU ID
All faculty, staff and students are being assigned a unique “ECU ID” that identifies you at East Carolina University. The university is replacing all Social Security numbers with this new ID to better protect your identity and confidential information, and to comply with the Identity Theft Protection Act.

Example ECU ID: B00993421

Helpful Hint:  If you forget your ECU ID, you can also find it on OneStop.

  • Go to http://onestop.ecu.edu
  • Enter your PirateID and Passphrase.
  • From the “Tools” page, select “What is My ECU ID?” located in the Banner box.

Passphrase Requirement
Your ECU password is referred to as a passphrase, which contains special characters to make it more secure.

Passphrase Maintenance
You will be required to change your passphrase (password) before logging into any of our systems. Visit pirateid.ecu.edu and enter your Pirate ID. Users can manage their own passphrases (passwords) by registering on-line.

Piratedrive

Piratedrive is your personal storage space on the ECU network and is created when your E-mail account is established. When you log into the INTRA domain with your PirateID and passphase, you will notice another drive letter designated as (U:) when you click on "My Computer." This drive will be available to you from any Windows PC logged into the INTRA domain.
