Overview: Microsoft Communicator 2007 is now available to ECU users who have a need to communicate securely with contacts through instant messaging (IM), audio/video conferences, and data sharing sessions.

How Can Communicator Help You?

  • Initiate a one-to-one or group text-based conversation when you need information quickly;

  • Schedule video conferences using a Web camera for more personal communications;

  • Place Communicator calls (calls from your computer to another computer) from any connected location;

  • View presence information—whether a person is online, in a meeting, out of the office, etc.from an e-mail message received in Outlook 2007;

  • Share documents through Communicator “data sharing” sessions;

Familiar with Communicator 2005? Microsoft's 2007 Version Offers Many New and Improved Features:

  • Add your location—in office, at home, etc.;
  • Set different access levels for different groups in contacts;

  • Multi-select contacts for single click conferencing;

  • Add Subject and Importance to a Communicator call;

  • OneNote 2007 integration;

  • Reply to e-mail with IM or voice call.
