NOTE: You are registering your device to connect to ecu-wifi, an open non-secure network.
This open, non-secure network is intended for onboarding (connecting) cell phones, tablets, laptops and other wireless devices to eduroam, ECU's primary network. For users with a PirateID only.
It is recommended that you onboard to eduroam using ecu-wifi rather than using ecu-wifi as your primary network connection. It is non-secure and requires daily authentication. You only register each wireless device once with eduroam and access is good for four years. See the eduroam page for more information.
This network (ecu-wifi) is also used to connect internet-ready devices such as smart TVs and other multimedia equipment not supported by the eduroam network service. You will need to authenticate (log on) each time you connect unless you register your device in the My Devices portal.
- If your device is eduroam capable, continue to onboard to eduroam. Otherwise, you may browse to your original destination.
If you live in a residence hall and wish to connect a smart TV or other internet-ready, multimedia device, please follow these steps to register the device in the My Devices Portal.
