The following topics are covered in this update:
- Design Enhancements to ECU home page & CommonSpot templates
- Web Request Form
- User Feedback
1. We are excited to share, that based on your feedback and others around campus, the ECU home page has received a face lift. Our new home page and template deployment was implemented on Jan. 8th.
Below is a list of these enhancements:
a. Minor design enhancements that will bring more color to our site.
b. A new header and footer on the ECU home page will be pushed to the CommonSpot templates. The new header will have white lettering on a purple background. Because of the increase in purple at the top of the page, the background of the page title for those who chose purple will be automatically switched to purple lettering on a white background. This will require no action on your part.
c. The background color of the Page Title will have 2 new colors: gold and gold gradient.
d. We will be adding a few other enhancements that you will be able to take advantage of if you are interested.
2. In the spring semester, we will introduce an electronic web request form to capture web or database space requests. Part of this form educates users on different types of data and what is appropriate for the web. Users who would like to collect sensitive data are asked to contact IT security (328.9187) for information on resources and best practices. Sensitive data should not be placed on the web instead ITCS may need to establish a more secure environment for your needs.
3. We would like your feedback on the suggested changes and timeline. Also, we would like to know how is CommonSpot performing, have you encountered any problems, and what other enhancements do you need.
Thank you for your feedback!
