Setting up your iPhone/iPod Touch to connect to Piratemail

Please note:
It is possible to use a variety of mobile devices to access ECU resources, but ITCS support for mobile devices is currently limited. Whichever brand you own, it may be possible to use portions of these instructions to configure your device (details will vary).


Install security certificate and latest software

1. Connect to a wireless network (Taho or Buccaneer at ECU). From your mobile device, open this Web page in the Safari Web browser.

2. Install the necessary security (SSL) certificate on your device:

3. Be sure you have the latest version of the iPhone/iPod Touch software:

E-mail settings

4. On your device's home screen, tap Settings.

5. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

6. Tap Add Account.

7. Tap Microsoft Exchange.

8. The Microsoft Exchange window will appear. Enter the following information:

Email: yourPirateID@ecu.edu (replace 'yourPirateID' with your unique PirateID)

Domain: INTRA

Username: yourPirateID (use your unique PirateID)

Password: ********** (use your unique password/passphrase)

Description: yourPirateID@ecu.edu (replace 'yourPirateID' with your unique PirateID)

Tap Next.

9. Your device will try to verify your account information. This may take a few seconds. Once complete, you will see a few rows of information. Be sure the following information is set:

Server: piratemail.ecu.edu

Use SSL: set to ON

Tap Next.

10. On the next screen, tap Done.
