NEW ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE FOR CAMPUS

On Thursday, July 23, 2009, ITCS will upgrade the Symantec AntiVirus software on all INTRA Domain, Windows computers to Symantec Endpoint Protection version 11.0.4202.75. This upgrade will be installed automatically during the Windows startup process.

During installation you will see a message window stating "Installing managed software Symantec Endpoint Protection". The software will take approximately 10 minutes to install. After the installation and prior to the user logon prompt your workstation may automatically reboot to complete the upgrade.

The Symantec Endpoint Protection software has a new look and improved protection system. Please see the information below that provides details on determining your computer status, accessing the quarantine, and scanning your computer.

Contact the ITCS Help Desk at 252.328.9866 or http://help.ecu.edu if you experience any problems.
