Learning Technologies

ITCS supports a variety of technologies that can enhance and expand your classroom - both online and face-to-face. Weaving technology into your courses is meaningful for today's technology-savvy students. It also provides opportunities for faculty enrichment and potential solutions for student retention.

Read more about learning technologies here.

Piratedrive

Piratedrive is an individual folder created on an ECU server for each faculty, staff and student for data file storage. Departments can also request a Piratedrive folder to house department information.

IT Security

IT security is everyone's responsibility. Learn how we can all work together to keep the university network and our information secure.

File Sharing

So you think that downloading free music and movies from the Internet is a great idea? You might want to think twice about that.

For more information, please visit http://www.ecu.edu/filesharing.

Pirate Print - upload from any computer and print on campus!

PiratePrint is a service that allows students to print from their personal computers from either on or off campus to a printing kiosk located inside the main entrance of the Austin building.

We are bringing students this convenient new service in response to the 2012 Student Technology Survey: 52% of respondents indicated they are more likely to use a printing station over a computer lab.

Cloud Computing

ECU provides guidance on the use of cloud computing, or "hosted", services and the storage of university data external to the ECU network.

Student Services

ITCS provides students an array of technology services in support of academic and research activities — from a Microsoft Live e-mail account and free Microsoft and antivirus software, to campus computer labs and wireless connectivity, among many other services and resources. See our Getting Started Guide for a comprehensive list.

Social Media

While all ECU employees are welcome to participate in social media, we encourage everyone who participates in and contributes to online commentary to understand and follow ECU's social media guidelines (pdf) and the university's social media regulation (html).
