Banner is ECU’s administrative enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and currently includes the Finance, HR/Payroll and Student Request modules. Over the next year, ECU is upgrading to Banner 9 which delivers a number of important enhancements, including a modern user interface, enhanced navigation and process management tools, in addition to new functionality across the student, HR and finance functions. Banner 9 also gives users greater flexibility as it can be run on any browser and on tablets.
With any system upgrade, we know people often grow concerned over what will change, and we have been working closely with campus administrative departments to anticipate those changes. Within the next year, we’ll be updating the training and documentation while scheduling information sessions and webinars to keep users informed of the progress.
Our team has begun planning the move to Banner 9, and we are targeting completion for Summer 2018. We are currently working with HR, Financial Services and Enrollment Services to coordinate system testing and training as we work to complete the overall project schedule.
