Data Protection Tips

• Back up your data files or save documents in your Piratedrive folder.
• Check the backups to make sure they are valid.
• NEVER share your passphrase. No one should ever ask you to share it.
• If you think your passphrase has been compromised, change it immediately!
• Develop a strong passphrase. Test your passphrase.
• Lock your computer when unattended.
• Power off your computer at the end of the day.
• Use Anti-Spyware Programs.
• Use and Update antivirus software. All ECU students, staff and faculty can download Symantec Endpoint from the ECU Download Center.
• Use Email Responsibly.
• Protect Sensitive Data.
• Encrypt sensitive data and email.
