New features and enhancements of EWS

 

Most of the enhancements are behind the scenes. This update is meant to fix all the calendar sync issues that were in 2008 and to start incorporating new features for Outlook 2010 that is coming out soon.

Notes, Tasks, Categories

Entourage now syncs notes, tasks and categories with the server. This means you will see them in Outlook on a Windows machine or in Outlook Web Access Premium. You still cannot see them in Outlook Web Light which is what Macintosh users still use in FireFox or Safari.

Categories are now compatible with Outlook 2007 so they will be visible to anyone who shares or views your calendar on a Windows machine.

 

Attachments to calendar items

You can now add attachments to calendar meetings. If an invitation is sent with an attachment, the calendar will show them.

 

AutoDiscover

There is an AutoDiscover feature that runs in the background every hour to check on the server settings. If any are different, Entourage will immediately update them.
