Some possible EWS issues

 

The installer says you cannot install EWS on this volume

Go to Macintosh HD>Applications folder and delete the Microsoft Office 2008 folder. Do this ONLY if you don't have other assistive applications installed like EndNote. If you do, please contact the Help Desk for further help.

Open Safari and go to http://download.ecu.edu/ and reinstall Office 2008 from there.

Then run all the updates for that version and then try EWS again.

 

 

LDAP Error

After launching Entourage you get an error about being unable to establish a secure connection. This is because Entourage is pointing to a wrong server. The built-in autodiscover service puts the wrong server name in the account settings because of security measures that are in place on our network. Here are the correct settings: Account Settings.

 

 

 

KeyChain Application

The Mac OS X Keychain Application may react to the first launch. Just click on "Always Allow".

 

Open Office program

During the install the following error may appear. This means an Office application is still open. You will have to locate it and close it before the installer will continue. 

 

Recurring Calendar events

Recurring calendar items may duplicate. Just delete the duplicates. 

 

Categories

When you upgrade, you may lose some of your currently set up categories. Take a screen shot of them in case you need to re-enter them.
