Entourage - Wrong name in Pull Down menu

You start typing in the address field and a pull down menu appears, suggesting names and addresses to match what you are typing. However, in that list you notice one that has been mistyped. How do you fix it?

First check your local address book. Make sure you don't have a wrong entry for that person. If its correct then it may be in the Recent Items list. This list is a hidden list and cannot be edited one name at a time. You will have to clear the entire list and start from scratch. It does NOT delete your local address book. Just the names you've recently typed and not saved anywhere else.

Step 1: Open Entourage.

Step 2: Go to Entourage menu > Preferences.

 

 

Step 3: Click on the Compose preferences section on the left.

Step 4: Click on the Clear List button.

 

 

Step 5: Click on the Clear button.

Step 6: Try another message and see if the name still appears. If it does, it may still be in your local address book. You will have to find the card and edit it so it is correct.
