These instructions are meant to help with personal or departmental installs.

Instructions for Upgrade Install:

The Snow Leopard installation can be either an upgrade or a clean install on a disk that has no system at all. If you do a clean install, you will have to reinstall all of your applications (like Adobe) so gather your disks and licenses together.

Step 1: See if the Mac meets the minimum System Requirements.

Step 2: Prepare your disk by running Disk Utility.

Step 3: Make sure all the available updates have been installed for your current system.

Step 4: Check all your programs and make sure they are compatible with OS X.6

Step 5: Take screen shots of any custom settings in System Preferences, paying particular attention to Network and Sharing settings.

Step 6: Back up your data.

Tip: Want to start "fresh". Make an image of your current system, do a clean install of Snow Leopard and use the Migration Assistant to import your account, settings and applications.

Step 7: Insert the Snow Leopard DVD. (See MacBook Air instructions)

STEP 1:
