Step 1 - Download the software from OneStop.
- A stuffed file called "NAV9x.sit" will download and should unstuff automatically to reveal the installer folder.
- Note: Most systems will automatically unstuff these files. If they do not, double-click on them.
Step 2 - Double-click on "Install for OS X" folder.
- Double-click on Symantec Norton AntiVirus Installer located inside.
- Note: You need to be an administrator and know your OS X password in order to install this software. If you do not, please call the Help Desk at 328-6866.
Step 3 - Click on the "Continue" button in the first sheet.
- Click on the "Continue" button in the "Welcome to the Norton Antivirus Product Installer" window.
- Click on the "Continue" button in the "Important Information" window.
- Click on the "Continue" button in the "Software License Agreement" window.
- Click on the "Agree" button in the sheet that appears next.
Step 4 - If you have more than one partition on your drive, select the main one that use. Typically it's named "Macintosh HD".
- Click on the "Continue" button in the "Select a Destination" window.
Step 5 - Click on the "Install" button.
- Click on the "Continue Installation" button in the sheet that appears next.
- During installation, Symantec NAV will ask "Do you want to run LiveUpdate now to bring your software up to date?". Click on the "Yes" button.
Step 6 - Symantec NAV will optimize your system as the last step of installation.
- When you get the message that "The software was successfully installed", click on the "Restart button.
- After restart, please go to http://www.ecu.edu/itcs/mac/nav9prefs/index.html to set up the preferences and to http://www.ecu.edu/itcs/mac/nav9settings/index.html to set up the scan schedule.

Run LiveUpdate when prompted:
