Symantec 9 - Schedules

 
Suggested Symantec 9 Schedules
Step 1
  • Go to your drive and open the Applications folder.
  • Double-click and open the Symantec Norton Solutions folder.
  • Double-click on the Symantec Norton Antivirus application.

Step 2: Set up Schedules
  • In the Symantec Norton Antivirus window, make sure your drive is selected in the window and not any of the servers that may be mounted on your desktop.
  • Click on the "Schedule" icon in the left window.

  • The scheduler window. All scheduled tasks will be listed here.

Schedule 1 - Daily Scans
  • Click on the "New" button in the scheduler window.
  • Click on the "Antivirus Scan" button on the next screen.
  • In the "Add AntiVirus Scan Task" window, type "Daily Scan" in the space below "Enter a name for the task:"
  • Click on the "Browse..." button and select your drive.
  • "Set a Frequency:" to "Daily".
  • Set the time to around 12:15 pm or a time that you know the computer will be on.
  • Click on the "Save" button.

Schedule 2 - Update All Products

  • This is very Important! as a Macintosh can be a carrier of viruses.
  • Click on the "New" button in the scheduler window.
  • Click on the "Product Update" button on the next screen.
  • In the "Add Product Update Task" window, type "Daily Product Update" in the space below "Enter a name for the task:"
  • Click on the "Browse..." button and select your drive.
  • "Set a Frequency:" to "Daily".
  • Set the time to around 12:00 pm or a time that you know the computer will be on.
  • Click on the "Save" button.

Step 3
  • Close the Schedule window.
  • Quit Symantec Norton Antivirus.
