Spotlight doesn't seem to be searching correctly:
Keychain Access keeps asking me for a password:
To set the default email application:
- Solution: You'll need to open Apple Mail and go to its preferences to change to your favorite email application.
QuickTime Pro is missing after an upgrade to Tiger:
- Solution: Reinstall the Pro version.
Quark has printing problems after the upgrade:
- Solution: There's a known problem with Quark where the application refuses to hold onto installed PPDs. To fix it, create a new folder on your desktop called Quark Xpress PPDs. Then go to Macintosh HD > Library > Printers > PPDs > Contents > Resources > en.lproj and copy, not move, all the ppds from that folder into the new Quark Xpress PPDs folder. Now, move that folder into Macintosh HD > Library > Printers > PPDs > Contents > Resources folder.
Open the Quark Application. Go to Utilities > PPD Manager and select the use auxiliary folder. Point it to your new Quark XPress PPD folder.
Internet Explorer is missing:
- Solution: Use Safari or FireFox. Microsoft no longer produces IE for the Mac.
My Norton Antivirus is giving me errors:
Running Disk Warrior gives errors:
- Solution: Make sure you have Disk Warrior 3 or higher. Alsoft has some free updates on their website.
Disk Utility is giving odd errors:
- Solution: You can use the OS X.3.9 disk but nothing earlier on any OS X.4 (Tiger) volumes.
