Moving to Exchange 2007
What do you need to do?
1. Review this Web page for details, links to software and certificates you will need to install (both Windows and Mac; see below) and to check out getting started documentation and tutorials.
2. Windows users should upgrade to Office 2007 if you haven’t already.
To take advantage of all of the new Exchange 2007 features, you should upgrade to Microsoft Office 2007 prior to your mailbox being moved to Exchange 2007.
Estimated Installation Time: 10-15 minutes
Requirements: You do not need to uninstall previous versions of Microsoft Office. Close all applications prior to installing Office 2007; restarting your computer after installation should not be necessary.
Installation Link: (\\itssapps\Software\Site-licensed\Office2007\office_2007.vbe)
3. If you are a Windows Mobile user or a Mac Entourage user, install two SSL certificates.
4. Make note of the new (temporary) Web address for Piratemail: http://piratemail07.ecu.edu.
** If you have Outlook configured at home for RPC over HTTP or if you are an Entourage user, you will need to update your settings.
Windows: Microsoft Exchange Settings window > Microsoft Exchange Server box > type "piratemail07.ecu.edu" (no quotes).
Mac: Go to Tools > Accounts > double click Exchange account > in Account Settings tab, change the Exchange Server at the bottom to "piratemail07.ecu.edu/exchange/yourPirateID@ecu.edu" (no quotes).
5. Provide feedback.
All ECU faculty and staff will be moved to Exchange 2007 in the near future and your feedback will help us improve the implementation process. Please send feedback to
exchange07@ecu.edu.
If you experience technical problems, please submit a help request through the Online IT Help Desk at http://help.ecu.edu.

MICROSOFT EXCHANGE 2007 FEATURES (WINDOWS)
Several new convenient features include:
Enhanced Outlook Web Access (Piratemail; new Web address - http://piratemail07.ecu.edu):
- Piratemail is a near-perfect clone of the Outlook 2003 desktop interface.
- Piratedrive: Access your Piratedrive through Piratemail by clicking ‘Documents’ in the left options menu and then entering the directory path.
- SharePoint: Click the ‘My Site’ link on the top toolbar in Piratemail to go to your individual SharePoint site. From there, you can navigate to other sites within SharePoint.

- Address Book: Quickly view free/busy status of individuals in the Exchange Address Book.
Schedulable Out of Office:
- Out of Office messages can now be scheduled to begin and end on specific dates and times, reducing the likelihood of a user’s out of office not being set.
- Out of office messages can be sent to internal and external recipients, and can also be set or unset from a mobile device.
