Frequently Asked Questions:

Through a special license agreement with Microsoft, ECU is able to offer students selected Microsoft software for no cost (download only). The only cost is for the CD/DVD media and shipping if you choose the mail order option.

Note: To enter the e-academy Web store, you must provide your ECU PirateID and passphrase.

Who is eligible to participate in the program?

A person may participate in this program if and only if he or she is an enrolled student at East Carolina University.

Can participating students continue using the software after they graduate?

Yes. Under Microsoft's "perpetual" license agreement, the software becomes the property of the student.

I'm graduating this semester. Can I order the software after I graduate?

No. You must obtain the software BEFORE you graduate. When you are no longer an enrolled student at ECU, you are no longer eligible to participate in this program.

Microsoft does provide descriptions of and access to several support options on its Web site at http://support.microsoft.com. Online support options include product FAQ's and a searchable knowledge base.

Instead of downloading the software, can I request a CD/DVD?

Yes. Choose Mail Order rather than Download when adding products to your cart. You will be charged a cost for the CD/DVD media and shipping.

* Be sure to order the correct product; there are no refunds!

What methods of payment are accepted?

Payment may be made by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or PayPal.

Will sales tax be charged?

Sales tax will not be charged.

Will I receive an order confirmation?

A sales receipt is sent to you by e-mail after you place your order.

When can I expect my order if I chose to have it shipped to me?

The delivery times depend on the shipping option you chose during purchase. If you do not receive your package within the expected time, you should contact e-academy (the company that ships the product). When you are logged into the Microsoft e-academy Web store, click the Help link near the top of the page, then click the Contact Us link at the bottom of the Help page.
