MediaSite

MediaSite is a hardware based lecture capture solution that is installed in many classrooms all across campus. Any content captured by MediaSite is archived so that it can be accessed at any time. Content captured by MediaSite can also be streamed over the internet where it can be watched live from any Internet connected computer. All classes in MediaSite are secured so that only students enrolled in the course are able to access and view the content of your lectures. Depending on the particular installation, MediaSite is able to capture the following:

·         The presenter camera

·         The audience camera

·         The desktop computer

·         A laptop computer

·         The document camera

·         A VCR/DVD player

·         A videoconferencing connection

MediaSite runs in the background so using it is a breeze. All you have to do is walk in and teach class just as you normally would while MediaSite takes care of the rest.

For more information or to request to use MediaSite, simply contact the Instructional Technology Consultant (ITC) for your Academic Unit. Your ITC can help get your class added to MediaSite and scheduled to record during the time that your class is scheduled to take place. Your ITC can also help show you how to use the microphones and equipment in the rooms and show you what information is captured by MediaSite.
