Learning Technologies for Students

Image for Student Resources PageA variety of learning technologies are available and utilized in online, hybrid, and face-to-face classes.  The content on this page is a compilation of the tutorials and resources available to you as students, for each technology.  We invite you to explore the information below.

Blackboard

Visit the Student Tab on the Blackboard blog for Announcements, Easy-to-Follow PDF Tutorials, Important Browser Information, How-to-Videos, and more.


Centra

Visit the Quick Reference Documentation for Students, where you will find Quick Reference Cards, a video tutorial for Centra’s student interface, The Saba Centra Participant Getting Started manual, and there’s even a link for you to Join a Live Centra Event Now so you can give Centra a try today.

In addition, you will find general tutorials for all Centra users at the bottom of the Centra Technical Support page in the Centra resource Center.


Moodle

Visit the Student Options tab on the Moodle blog site for tutorials and steps to follow if you need to reset your password.


Second Life

Visit the Tutorials page on Second Life at East Carolina University for tutorials that will walk you through Second Life from the moment you first run the program until you are ready to join in world.  Tutorial categories include the Basics, Using Second Life (Assignments, etc.), and Advanced Settings.


WordPress Blogs

Visit the Wordpress Tutorials site designed to teach you how to create a blog site or participate in a course blog. For those that are not familiar with WordPress, it is an Open Source web application designed for creating blogs. It allows users to create both static and dynamic web pages. Blogging can be used in courses to provide interaction and engagement between faculty and students.
