Telephone Services
What Telephone Services does ECU offer?
There are five telephone systems serving East Carolina University.

- The Main Campus has a Northern Telecom DMS-100 telephone system and all numbers are prefixed 328-xxxx. Features and directions for using them are described under "DMS-100 Special Features."
- The Brody Medical Science Complex has a Rolm 9751 computerized branch exchange (CBX) and all numbers are prefixed 744-xxxx.
- The Residence Hall rooms are equipped for service directly from the Main Campus telephone switching system. Features and directions for using these phones are described under "DMS-100 Special Features."
- Elevator Emergency telephones and Blue Light Emergency telephones on campus automatically ring on the 911 emergency switchboard at ECU Police when the telephone goes off the hook.
- Cisco Voice over IP (VoIP) telephones are located throughout the entire campus, and use either the 328-9xxx or 737-xxxx prefixes. A directory of features and instructions are available at "VoIP Administration Telephone Services".
