Enterprise Vault - Macintosh

Why don't I see e-mail vaulting icons in Entourage or Safari?

Enterprise Vault icons are only visible through Windows Outlook or Piratemail (Internet Explorer only).

Mac users have two options to access vaulted mailbox items:

  1. Click the link displayed in a vaulted item.

  2. Navigate to the Enterprise Vault browser interface:  http://vault.ecu.edu.

How do I search the Enterprise Vault for archived items?

First check that network settings include intra.ecu.edu as a Search Domain.

To do this:

  1. Click System Preferences (under the blue apple, top left of the display).

  2. Click Network.

  3. Double-click Built-in Ethernet if details are not visible.

  4. In the TCP/IP settings for both Built-in Ethernet and AirPort, be sure the search domains include intra.ecu.edu.

You can now search for archived mail items through your Web browser by navigating to http://vault.ecu.edu.

How do I open an archived message?

  1. Open Entourage.

  2. If your default Web browser is Safari, click the link in the message. If your default Web browser is not Safari, copy the link from the message into the Safari address bar.

  3. Enter your PirateID and passphrase. The full message should display.

How do I change my default browser so that all archived messages automatically open in Safari?

  1. Open the Safari browser.

  2. Click Safari >> Preferences...

  3. In the General preferences window, check the Default Web Browser menu. Check the Safari browser.

How do I restore archived items?

First, you will need to know the name of the Exchange server.
  • A - KIK - Ecumb1
  • KIL - ZZZ - Ecumb2
Next, follow these steps:
  1. Open an archived message.

  2. Click the Settings icon (top right)
  3. Enter the server name and your PirateID.

  4. Click the Check Name button. All information should resolve.

  5. Click OK.

Finally, restore the item:
  1. Open the message to be restored in Safari.

  2. click the Restore icon. Click OK.

  3. Return to Entourage and check your Restored Items. If the message is not there, click Send/Receive. If the message is still not restored, close and re-open Entourage.

I'm having trouble logging in to http://vault.ecu.edu. What am I doing wrong?

Log in to http://vault.ecu.edu using INTRA\your-pirateid, especially if you are off-campus.
